Kauffman, Kathryn Ruth Graybill

Kathryn Ruth Kauffman, 62, of Richfield Star Route, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was rushed by the Richfield ambulance earlier in the day after suffering a heart attack in her home. She had been a patient at Geisinger in April for surgery, and was apparently on the road to recovery when stricken with the fatal attack.
A native of Richfield RD1, she received her education in the schools of Snyder County. Following her schooling, she worked for a year in Altoona prior to her marriage to David Kauffman, of Richfield, on May 24, 1929. The couple went to housekeeping in the Richfield area, where they continued to reside ever since. Mrs. Kauffman was a faithful member of the Crossroads Men- nonite Church, Richfield RD, and was active in all church functions. She was born Feb. 19. 1908, in West Perry Township, Snyder County, the daughter of the late Rev. William Walter and Mary Jane Wingard Graybill.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Naomi Elizabeth, wife of Daniel Weaver, Mt. Pleasant Mills RD1, Miss Anna Mae Kauffman and Miss Rhoda Esther Kauffman, both a t home; one son. Rev. Laban Paul Kauffman, Richfield RD1; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Lena, wife of Norman Brubaker, Bunkertown, Mrs. Freda Lauver, Mifflintown RD1 and Anne, wife of Raleigh Yehnert, Upland, Calif.; four brothers, Rev. J. Roy Graybill and William M. Graybill, both of Richfield RD1, S. Ralph Graybill, McAlisterville -RD2, and Pauli W. Graybill, Cocolamus; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Walter Graybill.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Cross Roads Mennonite Church, Richfield RD1, with Bishop Allen Kauffman officiating, assisted by Bishop Donald Lauver. Interment will follow in Lauver's Mennonite Church Cemetery, Cocolamus Star Route. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Garman funeral home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, this evening. The body will also lie in state in the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Serving as pallbearers are: Roscoe Frymoyer, Oscar Kauf fman, Abraham Benner. Paul Rice, William Shafer and Eli Graybill.
